Mindfulness for Writers

A Physical Therapist since 1998, Laura Terry has a private PT practice called Yoga and Physical Therapy in Chapel Hill, NC. She works with clients with a variety of goals that range from returning to athletic performance, improving balance or posture, to relieving debilitating pain.

For this session, Laura will lead a discussion in mindfulness with writing. Laura will discuss and demonstrate different ergonomic desk setups, accessible short movement practices you can do in your work space or anywhere to:

• Reverse “desk” posture

• Increase blood flow to your muscles and your brain

• Counteract wrist and hand positioning at the computer

• Deal with neck and shoulder tension

• “Reset” the nervous system to deal with writing anxiety, cognitive fatigue, etc.
