FAQs
What makes Readers’ List different from other email promos?
Readers’ List is different from our traditional email promos (like Freebooksy and Bargain Booksy) for a few reasons. First, Readers’ List drives traffic to a listicle featuring themed books with links to retailers. In our other promos, the books and links to retailers are included in the email to readers.
Second, Readers’ List promotes titles to the entire audience of readers on a specific brand (Bargain Booksy, Freebooksy, or Red Feather Romance), regardless of genre. In a traditional email promo, readers only see books that are in their favorite genres. Readers’ List gives authors the opportunity to promote beyond their book’s primary genre.
Does my book need to be available on Amazon?
Yes. At a minimum your eBook must be available at Amazon.com. We are also able to promote your eBook at other retailers (Apple, Nook, Google Play) but we cannot promote a book that does not have an Amazon link.
What are the book price requirements for Readers’ List?
Readers’ List has the same price requirements as a given brand. For the Freebooksy Readers’ List, a book must be free. For the Bargain Booksy Readers’ List, a book must be priced between $0.99 and $5. And for the Red Feather Romance Readers’ List a book may be any price (though lower price books typically perform better).
Who visits the Readers’ List landing page?
A large number of Written Word Media email subscribers visit our sites every month to review the newest listicle and expand their reading beyond the genres they consistently read. Readers’ List is also promoted on social media by Written Word Media and authors featured on a given month’s list.
What genres does Readers’ List promote?
Readers’ List promotes based on a monthly theme instead of genre. If your book fits into the month’s theme, it is eligible for Readers’ List regardless of genre.
What if the date I want isn’t available?
Please email our team at info@writtenwordmedia.com to see if there are any last minute openings in our inventory. If not, we are happy to work with you to find a future date convenient to your promotional calendar.

Do I have to wait 30 days to promote the same book?
Readers’ List necessitates a 30-day gap between promotions of the same title within the same brand. For example, if you run a promotion for “Title A” on Readers’ List on Freebooksy for the month of July, you cannot promote that book again on Freebooksy until 30 days later, even as a standard promotion. Alternatively, if you run a standard promotion on Freebooksy for “Title A” on June 20th, you would not be able to run a Readers’ List on Freebooksy promotion until after July 20th. We do not necessitate a 30-day gap between promotions across different brands.
