Apply for the Apple Books Author Program

Apple Books Author Program

Last week Apple launched the new Apple Books app which replaces the existing iBooks app. The launch of the new app is exciting as it reflects Apple’s commitment to ebooks and audiobooks. As part of the launch, Apple is offering a higher Apple Books affiliate commission rate to some authors through the Apple Books Author Program. If you sell your books on Apple and you don’t have an affiliate account with them, now is a good time to get one. To apply for the increased affiliate rate, follow our two steps below:

Step 1: Apply for an Apple Affiliate Account

Go to the Apple’s affiliate program page and click Apply Now. Complete the information to apply for an account.

If you already have an affiliate account with Apple, sign in to your account and get your affiliate token (you will need this for step 2).

Step 2: Apply for the Increased Commission Rate

Apply for the increased commission rate by following Apple’s instructions laid out here. Once you have emailed Apple with the information they are requesting, they will review your application and let you know if you are approved for the higher rate. The higher rate is being offered at Apple’s discretion and is likely temporary but it’s a nice opportunity to earn higher commissions while marketing your books in the Apple Books app.

Once you’ve gone through the process let us know in the comments below if you were approved by the Apple Books Author Program and how long it took to get approval from Apple.
