Our History


Written Word Media was founded by Ferol Vernon and Ricci Wolman in 2011 to address the lack of good book promotion options for authors, inspired by Ricci’s mother’s struggle to promote her first book, leading to the creation of Freebooksy.com.

 

Freebooksy was designed for the sole purpose of helping indie authors effectively promote their books during Amazon’s free KDP Select Days. Bargain Booksy, Red Feather Romance, NewInBooks, and Audio Thicket soon followed, each catering to a different reader need.

 

In 2021, we launched Reader Reach ads which is a full-service ads solution offering authors a way to access thousands of readers on Facebook & Amazon.

 

In 2022, we released our Premium Membership program. The program provides discounts on book promotions and advertisements, exclusive advance access to Written Word Media Products, advice from high-performing authors and industry experts, and on-demand customer support in one centralized hub.

 

Looking ahead, we aim to become the primary marketing hub for authors who are looking to take their writing careers to the next level. A true one-stop shop for book promotion, marketing education, and community.
